Welcome to Desert Hot Springs!

Nestled in the foothills of Joshua Tree National Park, Desert Hot Springs overlooks Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. Hiking, golf, tennis, shuffleboard, sunning, shopping, sightseeing, bicycle riding, ballooning and horseback riding are all within easy reach of the Desert Hot Springs community, along with numerous spas and resorts within this unique little city. The midcentury motels have been lovingly restored and refurbished and provide a wonderful glimpse into the past. Steve Lowe has created two unique: The Desert Hot Springs Motel, designed by noted architect John Lautner and stunningly furnished in "modern" style; and The Beat Hotel, a tribute to the great figures of the Beat Generation like Willliam Borroughs, Allen Gingsberg, and Jack Keroack. In addition to a spectacular view of Mount San Juancinto, each room in The Beat Hotel features a manual typewriter and a Borroughs adding machine.

One of Southern California's most extraordinary buildings is Cabot's Pueblo Museum, this 35-room rustic pueblo style mansion was built by hand over many years by Cabot Yerxa, one of the original homesteaders in Desert Hot Springs. The Cabot Pueblo Museum is a State Historical Landmark and was featured on Huell Hauser's "california's Gold".

Joshua Tree National Park is like visiting another planet with its odd Joshua trees and its surreal rock formations. Because Desert Hot Springs is situated in the foothills of Joshua Tree and you can hike or ride horses into this unique National Park from from several rustic canyon trails.
